Our Team

Mark Sunderland – Artistic Director

Mark is a partner at MAK Hair Design. He is the artistic director. Mark has recently been part of the Essentity launch with Schwarzkopf, working as an ambassador. Previously Mark was part of Sebastian Artistic Team, working all over the world from L.A to Tokyo.

Kim Sunderland – Business Development Manager

Kim is a partner at MAK Hair Design, working as the Business Development Manager. This means that her primary function is the daily running of the business. This ensures that every customer receives the highest standard of hair care in a relaxing environment.

Jo Barnes – Style Director

Jo has worked alongside Mark for over 20 years. She is a key part at MAK Hair Design and is our A1 assessor in the salon. This involves checking all assistants progress with regards to training and helping developing their skill to the highest standards expected at MAK Hair Design. Jo has also embarked on a long hairdressing course at the Schwarzkopf Academy in London.

Sam Marsh – Style Creator

Sam has worked at MAK Hair Design from the beginning. Mark trained Sam personally and she reached NVQ levels 2 & 3. Sam has recently undergone training at the London Schwarzkopf Academy, to an excellent standard on the colour expert course.

Fran Halliday – Style Director

Fran has been part of MAK Hair Design team for over 2 years. She was also part of the Schwarzkopf young artistic team 2007. She has recently finished her Schwarzkopf Colour Masterclass course at diploma level, at the London Schwarzkopf Academy, and created model looks at London Fashion Week.

Sarah Clarke – Salon Assistant

Sarah has recently completed her NVQ level 2 and is now working towards achieving her level 3 to become a salon stylist. For now Sarah is assisting stylists helping clients make the most of a special visit to MAK Hair Design. Sarah believes that product knowledge and customer care are number 1.

Rachel Saunders – Salon Co-ordinator

Rachel is the face of MAK on reception she is responsible for clients, from 1st your point of call to leaving your MAK Hair Design Experience. She is a great asset to the salon working with stylists to make the salon run smoothly. Not only is Rachel great at her job but has a BA Honours in Special Effects & Media Make UP Artistry which is only held by 14 people in the Country. This is great for MAK as hair, make-up & fashion run alongside as we will soon be introducing a great range of make-up.
